Wikimedia session with WikiProject Rivers team

Tarun Bharat Sangh in collaboration with CIS-A2K, is looking forward to posting two Wikimedians in Residence for its project locations in Rajasthan and Maharashtra. These wikimedians will be based in different rivers basins and will collect and post data like current rain-water harvesting structures, length and width, videos and photos during river walks, points of tributaries confluence, pollution drains, landmarks, interviews of prominent personalities, schools, colleges, universities, cropping pattern, maps, GPS coordinates, etc. The first session on Wikimedia Commons for TBS volunteers and key persons was conducted on 4 February 2022 to discuss the uploading procedure, categorisation and program timeline. This Online meetup was organized to discuss and plan the coming Wikisource proofreadthon 2022 and International Mother Language Day celebration. International Mother Language Day 2022 edit-a-thon poster

International Mother Language Day 2022 edit-a-thon was an edit-a-thon that was conducted for two days based on the occasion of International Mother Language Day. This edit-a-thon is part of the mini edit-a-thon series. The edit-a-thon took place on 19 and 20 February. During these days, Wikimedians created or developed content regarding languages, directly or indirectly. The participants were from 6 languages, Assamese, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Santali, Telugu. Wikimedia Commons workshop for Rotary Water Olympiad team

CIS-A2K has been in partnership with the Rotary Water Olympiad team to enrich content related to water on Wikimedia projects. On the occasion of 'World Water week', we have planned a photography campaign cum contest - Pune Nadi Darshan 2022 - on Wikimedia Commons. In this contest participants will capture the images of rivers in Pune district and upload on Commons. To introduce and train the team of Rotary Water Olympiad to Wikimedia Commons, A2K conducted an online session on 24 February. In two hour session, we introduced them to copyright, licenses and how they can upload the media file on Wikimedia Commons. Participants get involved in the training session enthusiastically. International Women's Month 2022 edit-a-thon

Every year Wikimedia world celebrates the month of March with the full of energy. There are many campaigns that lead the month such as Art+Feminism, Women in Red, Wikigap and so on. CIS-A2K also put its efforts to engage Indic communities for this month. So, this year A2K is going to conduct one more mini edit-a-thon on the occasion of International Women's Month 2022. This will be a two-day long edit-a-thon which is to be conducted on 19 March and 20 March 2022. Punjabi community is going to involve for these two days with the same idea on the same dates. We would invite all Indian communities or individuals to participate in this edit-a-thon and create or develop the content for your languages. The event page link is here.

Pune Nadi Darshan 2022

On the occasion of 'World Water week', CIS-A2K and Rotary Water Olympiad team have planned a photography campaign cum contest - Pune Nadi Darshan 2022 - on Wikimedia Commons from 16 March to 16 April 2022.

Annual proposal

CIS-A2K is currently working to prepare our next annual plan for the period 1 July 2022 – 30 June 2023. The plan will be submitted under the upcoming round's Community Fund (SAARC region) and is expected to be published around 14 April. Please write program(_AT_)cis-india.org for any suggestion/query.
