NSF Game Maker Awards

The NSF Game Maker Awards for grades K-12 commemorates NSF's 75th anniversary by engaging students in a video game design competition.

The competition aims to make STEM subjects exciting and accessible, encouraging students to imagine life in the year 2100 and the role science and technology will play in shaping the future.

Entrants will have the chance to win prizes, gain recognition and explore the fascinating world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics while developing a video game.

NSF is planning a series of in-person and virtual events across the U.S. throughout 2025. Highlights will include:

NSF STEM Day

Join NSF and museums and science centers around the country for a day of outreach and learning on NSF's anniversary.

Research open houses

Research facilities and centers across the U.S. will be hosting in-person and virtual open houses where you can learn about the exciting research happening in your community.

Science and engineering symposium

NSF will host a one-to-two-day symposium to highlight NSF's contributions to science and engineering, featuring speakers and interactive discussions.
