- Accessibility can be daunting as a big topic with many considerations. In terms of users, it's our responsibility to consider and include a global population of users who have varying abilities, preferences, and circumstances. On the technology side, we must consider mini-devices, software, input modes, user interface patterns, and more. Ultimately, building an accessible experience relies on being familiar with many scenarios and approaches. As we introduce custom interactions, patterns, and functionality, the accessibility considerations and risk of excluding users increase considerably. The most effective way to manage all of this is to question complexity in our products across content design, visual design, interaction, and functionality. According to the Annual WebAIM Million Study, which audits the top 1 million websites for accessibility errors, 96.5% of all errors detected fall into just six categories. Low…
