- [Instructor] The size of interactive elements determines much of their usability. The interactive surface area of an element is known as a pointer target, or tap target. Properly sized tap targets improves the usability of an interface for all users, but it's especially helpful for users with hand tremors and people who have difficulty with fine motor control. The current web content accessibility guidelines, or WCAG, establish a 44 x 44 pixel minimum size for tap targets. Inline elements such as a text link within a line of text are exceptions to this guideline and don't have a minimum tap target size. The size of inline elements is often determined by the surrounding content, like the appropriate font size and line height of paragraph text around a link. So, it's not always possible to meet this 44 x 44 pixel tap target. It's still best to create generous tap targets for inline elements where possible. Other exceptions…
