- Can you recall how many times you approached the end of a meeting? Someone in the room picked up on time to say, "so what are the next steps?" The truth is, we are obsessed with action taking in the workplace. Granted, balancing long and short-term impact can be a real struggle for today's leaders. When we value action over impact, we often end up with an overwhelming list of things to do, and sometimes we lose perspective on Our key purpose. Reflect in Latin means to refold, which is about turning our attention inwards. A reflective mindset allows us to be thoughtful, examine familiar experiences in a new light, and set the stage for developing innovative ideas. There are two ways of reflecting about an experience, reflection in action and reflection on action. Reflection in action is being in a sequence of thoughts while we are performing a task.
