- So we've talked about self-awareness in the context of what's happening in our brain, but there's also an element of self-awareness as it applies to our body, our physical presence in a conversation. How does that work and what should we know here? - Sometimes, it's actually easier to tune into what's happening with us physically than it is to tune into what's happening with us mentally or emotionally. So the body can give us many cues as to how we're feeling in a given moment. That can be really useful because they can be a reminder of, "Hey, I know you're physically in this room, and having this conversation and think you're being receptive and open to the other person, but oh, your arms are crossed over your chest and your feet are crossed too and you're kind of hunched over and making yourself small." Those are all signs that maybe you're in more of a protective position than a receptive one. So that's useful…
