- So we've covered self-awareness, the first element of presence, let's move on to the second, and that's trust. And we're not talking here about trust in the other party in the conversation. This is more about trust in ourselves. So what can you tell us about trust? - One of the things that can distract us, that can get in the way of our being present is this idea that if we don't express something now in the conversation we'll lose it forever. So for example, if I'm really excited about the topic of conversation, if I have an idea that I want to add, if I have a question that I want to ask, a critique, whatever it may be, I feel it's super, super important in thinking about that I'm actually distracting myself from the conversation.
