- There's so much nuance taken for granted about the dance of human interaction. It's all too common, I think for folks to engage in conversation in a way that's passive, or as you say in your book, "Listen. Like you mean it. Like they're on autopilot." Hearing, but not truly listening. Coming to the metaphorical table without the intention or self-awareness necessary to make the most of the experience. While there's much to learn, and understand about the other party's role in the dance, here we're going to examine our own, and as you write, it starts with being present.
