DDT
DDT (dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethanum) est organochloridum crystallinum sine colore et gustatu ac paene sine odore, proprietatibus insecticidae notum. Quod formulatur in paene omne forma quae excogitare potest, inter quas solutiones in xyleni vel petrolei distillatibus, decoctiones quae emulsifieri possunt, pulveres quae madefieri possunt, granuli, aerosolutiones, candelae fumi, et vires vaporizatorum et linimentorum.[1]
DDT primum anno 1874 synthesizatum est,[2] et eius actio insecticidalis anno 1939 a Paulo Hermanno Müller, chemico Helvetico, inventa est. Tum altero belli mundani dimidio adhibitum est ad malariam et typhum inter milites et privatos continendum. Bello confecto, DDT praesto fuit usui insecticidae agriculturalis, unde eius productio commode crevit.[3] Müller Praemium Nobelianum in Physiologia vel Medicina anno 1948 accepit "propter magnam efficacitatem DDT ut venenum contactus contra nonnulla arthropoda inventam."[4][5]
DDT est pollutans organicus persistens qui ad sola et sedimenta facile adsorberi potest, fontes fientes expositionis diuturnae organismorum terrestrialium.
