Difficult but well made stealth game. Great take on the theme. Good job!

Really cool game! The idea that you have to freeze as to not get detected is very nice.
I wish the movement was a little faster, but other than that I had a lot of fun with it! There's also a lot of things to discover, which I liked a lot, and the sound effects were also really good. Well done! :)

Very interesting and fun concept.

l kinda wish the map was a bit smaller, it feels like there's a lot of empty space, The very wide corridors makes it hard to see the walls and figure out if you're walking towards a door or just towards a brick wall. I also wish you could hold more than one item at a time, but that's more a personal preference, I'm sure many others enjoy the added difficulty of not carrying more than one object at a time.

thanks for the review!

i thought carrying one object at a time instead of multiple ones would have suited the nokia 3310 concept better, because if the game was played with the numpad it would have been much more difficult to switch from an object to another, also considering the limited screen space to display the collected objects in the ui.

totally agree with you on the map being too big, can be tedious if you get lost

Wow, this is tense. The feeling you have when you sneak down a narrow corridor where you KNOW that bots are patrolling.

Really cool use of the theme, I enjoyed the game quite a bit!

Developer

thank you!

thats exactly the vibe i was going for ;)

That was tough as nails!

For your first work, this game exhibits scope control while still presenting some interesting ideas. My favorite of which is that the robot guards change directions when they touch you and you're not being spotted.

One criticism though is that the limited screen size hides the robot guards from above and below, resulting in cheap deaths. I suggest adding "footsteps" sound to the robot guards to let the players know when they're approaching.

thank you for the good review, i agree with you, the robots are too easy to trigger and you dont always have time to avoid getting caught, i should have put a footstep sound like you said or else given more tolerance time (which btw the rotating rays do have unlike the bots) to let the player stop.

Unfortunately the time was up so i had to deliver it as is, but as a first project id say im satisfied

Cool Game! I liked the stealth gameplay and the idea is cool. This is the first game ive played that doesnt use the theme in a winter related way.

Developer

thank you! i think i should have made the map smaller and the robots less easy to trigger, but im still happy how it turned out :)

Well thought out gameplay and a fun stealth mechanic, great job!

An extremely good game, i loved the stealth mechanics!

Definitely a bit of a challenge! This is actually the first theme interpretation that didn't involve snow, so originality points for sure! Great work here ^-^

Developer

thank you for the feedback, im working solo and game art is not my strength, so i thought that making the snow theme would have put me in disadvantage

I really liked the option to change the palette and invert it as well! I don't think I've seen that feature in the other games I've rated. Challenging game, but I had fun running away from the robots haha.

Interesting take on the theme! I also saw other people mention the sound effects, and it's true I haven't heard these in other games for this jam, so props for that!

Developer

thanks for the good review, messed around with the soundfont preset in the resource page to get those sounds :)

Nice! Im a big fan of stealth games, so it's really cool to see one tackled within these limitations. Some great details and sound choices in there too. Good work!

A stealth game haha, nicely done

The alarm spooked me a bit the first time it went off lmao!

Great job!  Invert the Pallette option is very nice.  I liked the player animation.

Love the big moments of sitting in the middle of a squad of enemies and under a surveillance camera as they all just walk by, very tense. Lessss liked the long walks through hallways, and the detection range on the robots, felt a bit too long for my taste. And agreed with Colby, the sound design was phenonimal; loved that alarm =3.

Developer(+1)

you right about the endless hallways, i think i overdid it with the map making it too large and labirinth-like.

happy you enjoyed the concept tho!

Neat concept! Also, the taser sound was spot-on haha

Developer(+1)

thank you! played your game too and rated it, you went the extra mile with that one
