- One of my mentors used to tell me, if you're not ready to deal with change, you're not ready to lead. Organizations today are facing rapid changes in technology, the global economy, market demands, and worker expectations. And with all of these shifts, leaders have to be able to do two things, anticipate and respond to rapidly changing conditions, that's agility, and two, recover quickly and remain productive and positive, that's resilience. Otherwise, we run the risk of becoming irrelevant. But change is hard, and most leaders admit that they aren't good at it. In fact, experts posit that 70 to 80% of change initiatives fail. Why do you think this is the case? Failure is due mainly to three things. First, the leader is not equipped with the skills needed to embrace and execute change effectively.
