- In addition to being able to create point or headline type, Photoshop can create area type or paragraph type. To make it easier, I've created a note. So from the toolbar select the eyedropper tool and then use the fly-out menu to select the note tool. Across the top, we'll want to show the notes panel, so click on that icon. And then we'll need to select the note by clicking on it, as soon as we do that, we see the text in that note. I just want to click inside the note to highlight it, and then use command C on Mac in order to copy it, control C on Windows to the clipboard. Now we can collapse the note panel, and start adding our area type. I'm going to tap the T key to select the type tool, and in the layers panel, I want to target the rectangle layer and make it visible. But when I position my cursor on top of that rectangle, Photoshop would try to convert that rectangle into the area type. But I don't want that to…
