- [Narrator] One of the problems that can arise when straightening an image using the crop tool is that by default, the crop tool shrinks the marquee to fit inside of the document. I'll tap the C key to select the crop tool, and then just to make sure we're all starting with the same values, I'll right click and choose to reset the tool. Then, I'll position my cursor outside of the crop marquee and just rotate in order to straighten the image. I'm just using the windows here in the farmhouse as a reference. Now by default, the crop tool is constrained to within the image area because if it repositions the crop marquee beyond that, then we would be left with white areas if we were working with a background or a transparent areas if we're working with layers.
