- [Instructor] Camera Raw can convert images to black and white. It can add color toning and create vintage effects all with a few simple slider adjustments. I'm going to select the abandoned houses and use command R on Mac, control R on Windows in order to open in Camera Raw. Now, to convert this to black and white, I can click on the black and white option that will automatically select the Adobe Monochrome profile, or I could use the profile browser, and then I can choose from a number of different black and white profiles. I want to point out that some of these profiles actually limit the dynamic range of an image. I'll choose the black and white 11 profile and then I'll go back out of the profile browser. And in the basic panel, I'm going to move my black slider all the way to the left. But you'll notice that I can't actually get a true black in my image.
