- [Narrator] Most people think that layer styles are just for adding simple effects like strokes and drop shadows but they're really much more powerful than that. Let's take a moment to explore some of the additional layer effect options that are available to us by adding them to this illustration to completely change the appearance. Now, before we start we're going to need a pattern that's only available as a legacy pattern, so in my Patterns panel you'll use the flyout menu and choose legacy patterns and more. When you select that, you'll then see this legacy patterns and more folder, which we'll access in just a moment. For now, I can close the patterns by double clicking on it and in the layers panel, I want to target the creatures layer group that has these three creatures in it.
