Replacing the contents of a Smart Object

- [Instructor] There are a number of reasons that you might need to change the contents of a Smart Object. Perhaps you're doing template work and you need to swap out images or you're creating a design and you're waiting for the high-res version or the final retouched photograph. Here we're going to work with this template that I have opened. It has a logo layer and a texture layer, and I want to place a photograph so I'll choose the File menu and then Place Embedded. I'll navigate to the 14 Smart Objects, and then double click to place the rocks image. Now, whenever you place an embedded document, Photoshop by default will show you the transformation handles because Photoshop is going to transform the placed document to match the size of the canvas. I'll go ahead and apply it, but if you don't like that you can always go to the Photoshop menu to Preferences, and then to General. There are three preferences that all pertain to…
