Pen tool basics

- [Instructor] While I find that Photoshop's curvature pen tool is excellent for creating shapes, when I need the most amount of control. Say for example, if I'm trying to cut out an object from the background or make a really complex shape, then I'll switch to the traditional pen tool. So on the toolbar, I'll choose the pen tool, and I'll right-click in order to reset the tools to make sure that we are drawing a path. Then I'll zoom in using command one, navigate to the upper-right of this pen tool template file. So every time when you click with the pen tool, you're going to be creating what's called an anchor point, and once you click twice, then you're creating what's called a line segment. Now as we start drawing curves, we will click and drag with the pen tool, and we'll be creating what is called a direction line, and at the end of each direction line is a direction point.
